Well yesterday me and my buddy Tom tested the waters when it came to train hopping. We hung out at a train yard not to far from where our friend pats place is. Sitting there smoking Cigs, and talking about life while we waited and timed the trains. It was an hour later when we heard movement, we bounced from one group of trains to another climbing over couplers and such. We finally got to one that was moving and Tom hopped on first pulling him self up as we chased after it, I grab the railing on the car right next to him. Train yard workers were all around so I had to get to the hole where we had to hide, so i had to Jump from one train car to another. We cramed the two of us into this tiny hole and did everything we could to hide from the workers. There was this sudden rush of excitement as the train pulled forward we were actually doing it! sadly the only thing they were doing was just rearranging the cars. So we didn't go anywhere but the whole point was to test the waters by going to some short destination point and coming back, to try and see what we had to do, and learn what to do and how to do it by experience. The thrill we had with it was amazing, the thought of being able to be free, and see the US with only the wind at our backs always looking onward. Now we have this back packing trip to red river gorge in Kentucky, spending two weeks with no communication with the world just rice and beans, sleeping bags, bathing in the rivers and just being out in the wilderness. Once that is done we shall start our journey.
